Chapter 1
Adeola, the estate agent, welcomed the Adewale family into the grand foyer of the mansion, the opulent surroundings taking their breath away. With marble floors and high ceilings adorned with chandeliers, it was a world away from their humble shack in Lagos.
"Welcome to your potential new home," Adeola announced with a smile, gesturing for them to follow her. "Let me show you around."
The Adewales followed eagerly as Adeola led them through the spacious rooms of the mansion. Each room seemed more extravagant than the last, and they couldn't help but marvel at the luxury they were experiencing.
"Wow," Tunde whispered, his eyes wide as they entered the first bedroom. "This room is huge."
"It's like a palace," Nkechi added, her voice filled with awe.
Adeola smiled at their reactions, clearly pleased with their enthusiasm. "Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom," she explained, opening the door to one of the bathrooms. "And as you can see, they're equipped with all the latest fixtures and fittings."
Baba Adewale ran his hand along the marble countertops, his eyes shining with wonder. "I never thought I'd see the day when I had a bathroom like this," he admitted, his voice filled with emotion.
Nkechi giggled as she explored the walk-in wardrobe attached to one of the bedrooms. "Look at all this space," she exclaimed, twirling around in delight. "I'll have to go shopping just to fill it!"
Tunde chuckled at his sister's jest, his eyes scanning the room. "And look at this kitchen," he remarked, leading the way into the expansive culinary space.
Tuade's observation was met with a chuckle from everyone. A smile tugging at Nkechi’s lips. "I don't think Mama would ever want to leave this kitchen."
As they continued their tour, Tunde's attention was drawn to the security system, complete with alarms and surveillance cameras.
"Security is a top priority here," Adeola explained, pointing out the various features. "You'll have peace of mind knowing your family is safe."
Tunde nodded in approval, impressed by the attention to detail. "This is incredible," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "Thank you, Adeola, for showing us this amazing house."
Adeola beamed at the Adewale family, clearly pleased with their reaction. "It's my pleasure," she replied warmly. "I can see this house suits your needs perfectly. Let's discuss the next steps if you're interested."
Chapter 2
After the tour of the luxurious mansion, Tunde felt a surge of determination to secure it for his family. He turned to Adeola, the estate agent, with a confident smile.
"Adeola, this house is perfect for us," Tunde said, his voice filled with assurance. "Please email us the purchase agreement, and my father will sign it."
Adeola nodded, her fingers already typing on her tablet. "Of course, Tunde. I'll send it to you right away," she replied, her voice slightly flustered.
As Adeola worked on her tablet, she glanced up at Tunde, her expression hesitant. "Just to confirm, this will be a cash sale, correct?" she asked, her tone cautious.
Tunde met her gaze evenly, his confidence unwavering. "Yes, Adeola, it will be a cash sale," he replied smoothly. "The house, the furniture, everything as it is now… cash."
Adeola's eyes widened in surprise at the confirmation. "But… the house is listed at half a million US dollars," she stammered, her disbelief evident.
Tunde remained composed, his tone calm. "Yes, I'm aware," he said. "We have the funds ready. Just send the agreement, and we'll take care of the rest."
Adeola nodded slowly, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she prepared the purchase agreement. "Of course, Tunde. I'll have it sent to your email right away," she said, her voice tinged with admiration for Tunde's confidence.
As Tunde provided Adeola with his email address, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Despite the doubts and challenges they faced, he was determined to make this dream a reality for his family.
Chapter 3
With the purchase agreement in place, Tunde and Baba Adewale made their way to the bank to finalize the arrangements for the payment of the house. As they walked, Tunde couldn't shake the feeling of excitement coursing through him. This was it—the beginning of a new chapter for their family.
Arriving at the bank, Tunde and Baba Adewale met with the bank manager to discuss the transfer of funds. After some paperwork and discussions, they ensured that everything was in order for the payment.
"Thank you for your assistance," Tunde said to the bank manager with a grateful smile. "Please send confirmation by email when the funds are transferred to the seller as per the agreement."
The bank manager nodded, returning the smile. "You're welcome, Mr. Adewale. We'll take care of the transfer promptly."
Leaving the bank, Tunde and Baba Adewale headed back to the Victoria Island mansion, anticipation bubbling within them. Tunde glanced at his father, a sense of pride swelling in his chest. They were making their dreams come true, one step at a time.
Once they arrived at the mansion, Tunde checked his phone and saw a message from Adeola confirming that the keys would be handed over in the morning. Excitement surged through him as he turned to his father.
"We did it, Father," Tunde said, his voice filled with joy. "We'll be moving into our new home tomorrow."
Baba Adewale's eyes shone with pride as he embraced his son. "I'm so proud of you, Tunde," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "Thank you for everything."
Tunde then turned to Nkechi, who had been eagerly waiting for the news. "Nkechi, we'll be staying in a hotel tonight," he told her. "Take a taxi and go fetch Mama, and we'll meet you both at the Lagos Continental Hotel here in Victoria Island."
Nkechi nodded eagerly, excitement dancing in her eyes. "Got it, Tunde. I'll go get Mama right away."
As Nkechi hurried off to fetch their mother, Tunde and Baba Adewale made their way towards the hotel. With each step, they felt the weight of their old life slipping away, replaced by the promise of a brighter future in their new home.
As they entered the luxurious lobby of the Lagos Continental Hotel, Tunde felt a sense of pride wash over him. They were leaving behind the struggles of their past and stepping into a world of possibility.
Tomorrow, they would wake up as residents of Victoria Island, ready to embrace the opportunities that awaited them.
Chapter 4
Entering the grand lobby of the Lagos Continental Hotel, the Adewale family was greeted by a breathtaking sight. The opulent chandeliers cast a warm glow over marble floors, while plush sofas adorned with vibrant cushions beckoned guests to relax and indulge in luxury.
"Woah," Nkechi exclaimed, her eyes wide with amazement. "This place is incredible!"
Tunde nodded in agreement, a sense of pride swelling within him as he approached the reception desk. "Let me handle this," he said to his family, a confident smile playing on his lips.
Approaching the receptionist, Tunde couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction as he checked his family in. "We have a reservation under the name Adewale," he said, his voice steady.
The receptionist nodded, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she pulled up their booking. "Ah, yes, Mr. Adewale," she said with a warm smile. "We have your rooms ready. How will you be paying?"
Baba Adewale stepped forward, a sense of pride radiating from him as he reached into his pocket and withdrew a stack of cash. "Cash," he replied confidently, placing the money on the counter.
The receptionist's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the cash, but she quickly regained her composure. "Of course, Mr. Adewale. Let me just process your payment," she said, her fingers deftly counting the bills.
But Tunde had one more surprise in store for his parents. Turning to the receptionist, he asked, "Is it possible to upgrade my parents' room to the honeymoon suite?"
The receptionist's eyes lit up with understanding as she nodded. "Of course, Mr. Adewale. Let me arrange that for you."
As the transaction was completed, the concierge approached them, ready to escort them to their rooms. "Right this way, please," he said, leading the Adewale family through the lobby.
Walking through the corridors of the hotel, Tunde couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. They were finally living the life they had always dreamed of.
Soon, they arrived at their rooms, and as they stepped inside, they were greeted by the sight of luxurious furnishings and stunning views of the city skyline.
"Wow, this room is amazing!" Nkechi exclaimed, her eyes darting around the spacious suite.
Baba Adewale nodded in agreement, a wide smile spreading across his face. "It's perfect," he said, his voice filled with awe.
A few moments later, the concierge led Baba Adewale and Mama Adewale to their upgraded room, while Tunde and Nkechi followed close behind.
Opening the door to the honeymoon suite, Baba Adewale and Mama Adewale stood frozen in awe, their eyes wide with wonder.
"This... this is incredible," Mama Adewale whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
Baba Adewale wrapped his arm around his wife, pulling her close. "We never could have imagined something like this," he said, his voice choked with emotion.
Tunde smiled as he watched his parents take in the luxurious surroundings. It was a moment he would never forget—the moment he was able to give his parents the honeymoon they had never had.
As they settled into their rooms, the Adewale family couldn't help but feel grateful for the newfound fortunes that had brought them to this moment. And as they looked out over the city lights, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
