Fortunes Book 5

Chapter 1

Baba Adewale sat in the living room of their luxurious Victoria Island mansion, flipping through the morning newspaper. Nkechi entered the room with a determined look on her face, her heels clicking against the marble floor.

"Good morning, Baba," Nkechi greeted him, her voice filled with confidence.

Baba Adewale looked up, a smile spreading across his face as he saw his daughter. "Good morning, Nkechi. How did you sleep?" he asked.

Nkechi took a seat opposite her father, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I slept well, thank you," she replied. "But I wanted to talk to you about something important."

Baba Adewale raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Nkechi's serious tone. "What is it, Nkechi? You sound serious," he remarked.

Nkechi took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation ahead. "Baba, I've been thinking about our situation," she began. "And I think it's time for us to make some changes."

Baba Adewale frowned, puzzled by Nkechi's words. "What kind of changes?" he asked.

Nkechi leaned forward, her eyes alight with determination. "I want to negotiate a shopping allowance," she declared.

Baba Adewale's eyes widened in surprise. "A shopping allowance? What for?" he asked, taken aback.

Nkechi nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, Baba. I want $10,000 a day to spend on shopping," she said firmly.

Baba Adewale's jaw dropped in shock. "$10,000 a day? Nkechi, do you realize how much money that is?" he exclaimed.

Nkechi nodded, undeterred by her father's reaction. "I know, Baba. But we live in a different world now. We have to keep up appearances," she explained.

Baba Adewale sighed, shaking his head in disbelief. "But Nkechi, where we come from, $10,000 could feed a family for a year," he argued.

Nkechi reached out and took her father's hand, her eyes filled with determination. "I understand, Baba. But we have to think big. We have to think like the people in Victoria Island," she insisted.

Baba Adewale studied his daughter for a moment, realizing the depth of her ambition. "What do you plan to do with this allowance?" he asked, curious.

Nkechi smiled, her confidence unwavering. "I intend to infiltrate the high society of Victoria Island and find a wealthy husband who will contribute to our family's fortune," she declared.

Baba Adewale's eyes widened in surprise at Nkechi's bold plan. "Is that so?" he said, impressed by her determination.

Nkechi nodded, her gaze steady. "Yes, Baba. And with your support, I know I can make it happen," she said.

Baba Adewale smiled, a sense of pride swelling in his chest. "Alright, Nkechi. $10,000 a day it is," he agreed, reaching out to pat his daughter's hand.

Nkechi grinned, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of her new venture. With her father's support, she knew that anything was possible. And as she looked ahead to the future, she couldn't wait to see where her ambition would take her.

Chapter 2

Nkechi stepped out of the chauffeured car and into the bustling streets of Victoria Island, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. She was on a mission—a mission to transform herself into the epitome of luxury and elegance. With a gleeful skip in her step, she made her way to the first luxury boutique on her list.

Entering the designer store, Nkechi was greeted by the familiar sight of gleaming displays and rows of exquisite clothing. The shop assistants, recognizing her from her previous visits, rushed to her side with eager smiles.

"Good morning, Miss Nkechi! How lovely to see you again," one of them exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Nkechi smiled warmly, feeling a sense of satisfaction at being recognized. "Good morning, my dear. I'm here to indulge in some retail therapy," she replied, her voice dripping with charm.

With that, Nkechi dove into her shopping spree, browsing through racks of designer dresses, shoes, and accessories. She tried on outfit after outfit, each one more glamorous than the last. The shop assistants hovered around her, offering their expert opinions and showering her with compliments.

"This dress is absolutely stunning on you, Miss Nkechi!" one of them exclaimed, holding up a shimmering gown.

Nkechi twirled in front of the mirror, admiring her reflection. "You're right, darling. It's perfect," she declared, her eyes shining with delight.

After selecting her purchases for the day, Nkechi made her way to the next luxury boutique on her list. And then the next. And the next. Each store greeted her with open arms, eager to cater to her every whim.

The shop assistants, now her close friends, would eagerly await her arrival, ready to assist her in her quest for the perfect ensemble. They would gossip and laugh together as Nkechi tried on outfit after outfit, her laughter echoing through the store.

"Miss Nkechi, you look absolutely divine in that gown!" one of them would exclaim, her eyes shining with admiration.

Nkechi would smile graciously, her heart swelling with pride. "Thank you, my dear. I do love to make a statement," she would reply, her voice filled with confidence.

And so, Nkechi's fashion odyssey continued—a whirlwind of luxury and glamour that captivated the hearts of everyone in Victoria Island. With each passing day, she felt herself growing more confident, more powerful. And as she strutted down the streets in her designer finery, she knew that she was destined for greatness.

Chapter 4

Mr. Oluwole, the owner of one of the most prestigious shopping malls in Victoria Island, sat at his usual table in the elegant restaurant located within his mall. The morning sunlight streamed through the large windows, casting a warm glow over the tables adorned with crisp white tablecloths.

As Mr. Oluwole sipped his coffee and perused the morning newspaper, his eyes were drawn to a group of young women at a nearby table. Among them was Nkechi, looking radiant as ever, surrounded by her glamorous friends. Their laughter and animated conversation filled the air, adding a vibrant energy to the atmosphere.

Mr. Oluwole couldn't help but be intrigued by Nkechi. He had seen her frequenting his mall almost every day, her arms laden with shopping bags from some of the most exclusive boutiques in the city. She seemed to have an insatiable appetite for luxury, and he couldn't help but wonder about the source of her wealth.

"Good morning, Mr. Oluwole," greeted the restaurant manager, approaching his table with a warm smile. "Your usual breakfast?"

Mr. Oluwole nodded, his attention still focused on Nkechi and her friends. "Yes, please. And another coffee," he replied absentmindedly.

As the manager bustled off to place his order, Mr. Oluwole's gaze returned to Nkechi's table. He watched as she laughed and chatted with her friends, her beauty and charm evident to all who saw her.

"Excuse me," he said suddenly, catching the attention of the waiter passing by. "Do you know who those young women are?"

The waiter nodded, a knowing smile on his face. "Yes, sir. That's Miss Nkechi and her friends. They're regulars here," he explained.

Mr. Oluwole furrowed his brow, his curiosity piqued. "Miss Nkechi? Do you know anything about her?" he inquired.

The waiter hesitated for a moment before replying. "Well, sir, she's quite famous around here. She's known for her extravagant shopping sprees. Some say she's one of the most fashionable and glamorous young women in Victoria Island," he revealed.

Mr. Oluwole's interest was immediately piqued. He made a mental note to find out more about this intriguing young woman. As he enjoyed his breakfast, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Nkechi than met the eye.

After finishing his meal, Mr. Oluwole rose from his table and made his way over to Nkechi's table. "Good morning, ladies," he greeted them with a polite smile.

Nkechi and her friends looked up in surprise, their eyes widening as they recognized the distinguished gentleman before them.

"Good morning, sir," Nkechi replied, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Mr. Oluwole smiled warmly at them. "I couldn't help but notice your group enjoying yourselves here every morning. You seem to be quite the connoisseurs of fashion," he remarked.

Nkechi's eyes sparkled with amusement as she exchanged a glance with her friends. "Why, thank you, sir. We do enjoy indulging in a bit of retail therapy," she replied coyly.

Mr. Oluwole chuckled, charmed by Nkechi's playful demeanor. "Well, I must say, you certainly have exquisite taste. If you ever need any assistance with your shopping, don't hesitate to let me know. My mall has some of the finest stores in the city," he offered.

Nkechi smiled graciously, her mind already racing with possibilities. "Thank you, sir. That's very kind of you," she replied, her voice filled with gratitude.
